Assemblymember Hueso’s bill will stop the sale of drugs known as "bath salts" from neighborhood markets

Sacramento, Calif. (September 2, 2011) – Assemblymember Ben Hueso announced the passage of AB 486 today in the California State Assembly. This bill will make it a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail or a fine, to sell, dispense, distribute, furnish, administer, give, or possess for sale synthetic stimulants, commonly known as bath salts.  AB 486 passed the Senate earlier this week.

Summer is here. That means that the kids are out of school and summer vacation plans are in full gear. It also means that the 100 deadliest days of the year for teen drivers have begun.

It is also the time of year for graduation events and festivities, which all too often are accompanied by an alarming increase in teen deaths due to drunken or drug-impaired driving.

$5,000 Barona Education Grant to Fund Materials to Promote and Celebrate Cultural Diversity

(SAN DIEGO, CA) June 10, 2011 – High school students at King Chavez High School are set to benefit from a $5,000 education grant awarded today by the Barona Band of Mission Indians. Assemblymember Hueso’s bill gains support needed to move on to the Senate

Sacramento, Calif. (June 1, 2011) – Today, AB 750, the Investment Trust Blue Ribbon Task Force bill, authored by Assemblymember Ben Hueso (D-SanDiego) was passed by the Assembly. The bill would establish a task force to consider the viability of creating a state trust or a state bank in California.
