Tenants: California issued a statewide moratorium on residential evictions for renters who cannot pay their rent because of COVID-19 related economic hardships. The moratorium went into effect on March 27 and is valid through May 31, 2020. Check your local government’s webpage for more information.

Taxes
The deadline to file state and federal taxes has been delayed until July 15th. However, those who qualify for CalEITC and/or the Young Child Tax Credit are encouraged to file now to ensure that stimulus checks are distributed quickly for individuals or families that have not filed in the last two years.

- Business Complaints: The Office of the Attorney General (AG) cannot interfere on behalf of individuals when it comes to contract agreements made with businesses. If people cannot get their deposits back as stated in a contract they signed, the AG unfortunately has no recourse to help. If an individual wants to file a complaint against a business, they may do so through the AG's website: https://oag.ca.gov/consumers. Additionally, they can file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
