Dear Friend,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. The State of California recently announced a new program to enlist local restaurants to prepare meals for delivery to California's seniors. The program will be implemented by counties that choose to participate.

San Diego County recently rolled out its program and is accepting applications for enrollment from qualified individuals. "Great Plates Delivered: Home Meals for Seniors" is available for older adults who are unable to obtain or prepare their own meals, and do not participate in other federally-funded programs (e.g., Cal Fresh or senior nutrition program/home delivered meals). Eligible individuals will be assigned a restaurant, which will provide three daily meals per person, delivered at one time each day for the duration of the program, which currently runs through June 10. Program capacity is limited so be sure to apply as soon as possible.

For more information on eligibility and program details, or to complete the application online, please click here. You can also call the County Aging & Independence Services Call Center at (800) 339-4661 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
