Dear Friend,

As a former small business owner, I understand the challenges that this community faces under normal circumstances, even without a global pandemic. And, of course, these businesses are now struggling exponentially more as they fight to stay afloat in the current conditions. Fortunately, the State of California and our federal government recognize that small businesses are the heartbeat of our nation's economy and are working very hard to provide resources and assistance to help.

I invite you to join me (virtually) on Thursday, April 16 at 2 p.m. for a Zoom conference dedicated solely to topics affecting small businesses. We will hear from guest speakers from the State Board of Equalization, South County Economic Development Council, and the Small Business Development Center, who will answer your questions and review the resources available to small businesses in response to COVID-19.

As always, if you need any state assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my offices. We are working full-time remotely to continue to serve you.

Please stay home and stay healthy.

Ben Hueso
Senator, 40th District
